To the tutorialsThis blog is the actual origin of Anfibio and has now grown to over 200 pages. It was a bold initiative to establishing packrafting in Europe, a goal we have now achieved together with many others. Our online magazine laid the foundation and is still a popular spot in the scene to this day.
Here you can find a selection of articles for further reading:
A German TV-Documentation with with English subtitles: The trip led truly amphibious through swamps, mountains and white water of the Balkan Peninsula, in Montenegro at the Skutari Lake and in the Cijevna Canyon of the Albanian Alps. We experienced frequent land-water change, trips to small islands, through flood forests, to beaches and monastery islands.
Enjoy a story telling video, an interactive tour map, some gear talk and a full cost break down. Albania unfolded. Shala is a remote class IV river in northern Albania. The alternate approach on foot requires some off trail hiking, 1500 m elevation gain and a final, long flatware section. Summing up to roughly 60km, doable in 3-4 days.

Christoph and Andy did the Federation Peak, Tasmania’s most iconic summit, along the New River in style of canyoneering, but upstream! The route has not been completed in historic time yet, but the mysterious gorges revealed its secrets now.

“The further I move away from civilization, the more the locals have open hearts” - says Dominik Szmajda from Poland, a lover of extreme – walking, cycling and packrafting- expeditions through Africa, Asia and the Urals. His recent expedition “lonely traverse of the jungle” to the D. R. of Congo, was the fulfillment of a long-standing dream, but took a different course than he planned.

By the Les Engages, a French team training to reach the North Cape at the Polar Night. After a first test in the Swiss Alps, paddling on the Loire in the dark and a night trip on the Atlantic during storms they now actually attempted to reach the North Cape with skis and packraft. How that went and what went wrong is to be read in this article.

"From the airplane window I see the inland ice infinite white, black summits that rise up some hundreds of feet above the snow. The Nunantaks, glaciers that melt in thousands of pieces, isolation … there is no doubt, I am in Greenland." - A report by Gerard Anton, a Spanish dentist and explorer. It is a very honest report you can learn a lot from.

Nigel from Scotland provides us a thorough guide to packraft this extraordinary place! We would claim that Jura is the place as close to wilderness as one can get in Scotland. A straight line of a couple days walking uncrossed by paths and roads is hard to get, even in "wild" Scotland. And here the packraft comes into the game to answer the question of how long it 'll take from the northern tip to the southern most part, serving as a Ferry access.Â
